Bert C. Brennan collection.

This collection consists of various materials of State Representative Bert C. Brennan, and is arranged in two series. The first series, committee records (1968-74), documents Brennan's committee activities and legislation. The series contains bills, analyses, and correspondence. The second series, subject files (1967-74), contains correspondence, legislative bills, reports, studies, and a few editorials from newspapers, television and radio stations. The papers reflect the issues of the day such as abortion, busing, public health, education, mass transportation, and aid to parochial schools. The bulk of the material dates from 1969-74.

Bert C. Brennan was born on Dec. 27, 1914. A native of Saginaw, he received his B.S. degree from Ferris State University in 1939. Before becoming a state representative, he was a pharmacist. He was elected to the House in 1968, representing the 100th District. He was re-elected in 1970 and 1972. He also served on the Michigan Board of Pharmacy from 1963 to 1968.
